I recently got back from the trip, my family and I purchased the land package so I cannot speak on the air travel part. Once in Japan the tour itself was a blast and I'm sure this post will be long because I cannot stop gushing about this incredible trip. Our tour guide was Hiroshi and he was extremely kind, knowledgeable and very helpful. He kept the tour entertaining with his knowledge of the historical sites and teaching us basic Japanese words and customs. I was impressed with all the accommodations, meals, additional things I learned. My only suggestion would be to add an optional tour/event to replace the bus ride from Mt. Fuji to Kyoto with a bullet train experience. I would have gladly paid extra to ride it, cut the travel time and get to be in Kyoto longer. My family and I stayed a week longer visiting relatives and traveled this way after the tour and highly suggest it be an added option to get more time in Kyoto and experience the awesome bullet train. I did not do either of the dinners that were offered but I did do all of the optional tours/day trips (Yokohama/Kamakura, Bamboo Forest in Kyoto, Nara) and would highly recommend all three, incredible great Buddha's as well as chances to interact with animals like Deer (I recommend going to the Monkey Park in Kyoto by staying behind after your day in the bamboo forest) Hiro was an amazing guide and I'm so glad he showed me around on my first visit, I cannot wait to go back. I absolutely love Japan for its beauty and cleanliness which is seriously impressive and it's people for their kindness and generosity. Also I was a bit apprehensive about doing a tour but it ended up being the best decision and pretty awesome meeting other adventurous people, I cannot recommend this trip enough and I can't wait to book future excursions with Affordable World.
