BEST OF ASIA - THAILAND AND BEIJING

My husband and I just returned from the "Best of Asia" tour to Thailand and China. We had such a great experience with Affordable World!! We loved our tour guide "O" in Thailand! We both would highly recommend this tour company as the airfare was good, hotels...FANTASTIC!!, and the tours were great! Everything was very organized, from the minute we got to Bangkok to the time we left Beijiing. What a great experience for the price!! We had such a great time!

This tour was such an amazing trip! Our tour guide in Thailand, Sharky, was informative, entertaining, and very accommodating for our group. This trip was was 100% worth it for the money, and we were able to do even more excursions that anticipated, per recommendations or set up by Sharky. Our guide in China, Henry, was excellent as well. Even after becoming ill in Bankok airport before my flight, Sharky went above and beyond to stay with our group to help coordinate medical care, changing our flights, contacting our guide in China, and coordinating a new airport transfer upon arrival in Beijing. This unfortunate bump was seamless thanks to Sharky! Every step of our trip we were extremely satisified, and we will be traveling with Affordable World Tours again!

We had a great trip as everything was very well planned by Affordable World, I highly recommend them. The first hotel in Bangkok was fabulous with the best breakfast buffet. The two other hotels in Thailand not as good, as our guide said, they were 5 stars 30 years ago!! Really enjoyed the guides and PA was amazing, he really met and went above all expectation. The tours are well planned. In China the hotel was very good and the guide Gary dis a great job. All in all a memorable trip

BEST OF ASIA - THAILAND AND BEIJING

This was a phenomenal experience, and I can't speak highly enough about our tour guide in Thailand, Kitty (meow meow). Every single one of the excursions was worth the money (I wish we'd gone on them all), and there is always ample time to explore on your own. The food that is provided is good (breakfast each morning is great), and the tour guide really went above and beyond the tour to fill our downtime, suggesting new things for us to do, helping us arrange different activities, and even informing us of "fair" rates for taxis and souvenirs. China was more of a "bucket list" experience--the tour guide was okay at best, and the excursions were less interesting. I honestly would have rather stayed in Thailand for 2 more days! Overall, this trip was one of the best I've been on, and I've been recommending it to all my friends since I returned.

We would strongly recommend a tour with Affordable World. They take care of all the logistics and planning so that we didn't have to plan or worry at all. PA was a great tour guide and went above and beyond to provide us with recommendations and coordinate transportation to things not listed on the itinerary (in our free time). Everything went smoothly, all of the hotels were nice. We had a great time!

BEST OF ASIA - THAILAND AND BEIJING

My best friend and I took this tour in August 2015. At the time, we were both 20 years old and very intimidated by going to Asia by ourselves. This tour was an absolutely incredible experience. Our flights, hotels, travel accommodations were all better than we expected. We felt safe at all times, had a blast and even made some friends along the way. I credit most of our great experience in Thailand to our tour guide Audi, who was constantly giving recommendations and making sure the group was enjoying themselves. The elephant camp/River Kwai day was one for the books and we also loved the floating markets (even though they were more pricey). Every temple was incredible. We would have chosen something other than the gem factory if we could have, it just wasn't in our interests. We chose to use our free time in Bangkok to explore the Chatuchak market which ended up being the best decision. Getting there is easy, whether by tuktuk or the subway. I can't explain how huge this market is, but it is a must see and the perfect place to buy souvenirs (so many options and super cheap). Coral Island was a beautiful and relaxing last minute option to our last day in Thailand (so go if you can!). Our Chinese tour guide was less personable, but still great and did his best to keep everyone happy. He squeezed in a traditional tea tasting which was a very cool experience. Of course the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City were all incredible to see. We chose to ditch the outlet type malls and instead a small group of us took the subway to explore other areas of the city. As far as food in Beijing, if you don't want to travel very far for dinner and you are staying at the Doubletree, there is a supermarket (which had so many fun Chinese snacks that we took home to share) and shopping mall right beside it with a couple "food court" type of restaurants. We went back to the dumpling restaurant twice because they were so yummy and close to our hotel. Also, there is an awesome bakery right around the corner that is worth checking out. Overall, Thailand and China was an absolute blast! My biggest recommendation is to not be afraid to stray from the pack, some of the best memories we had came from just exploring. We would use Affordable World again and can't wait to plan our next trip!

BEST OF ASIA - THAILAND AND BEIJING

Overall we were VERY pleased with our choice on "Best of Asia". Two amazing countries. As follows are things to know and tidbits. I must say we were fortunate to get the best guide available on Both legs of the trip, folks were asking to transfer to our bus because of our guides. They can make a trip. Flight on Air China, dealing with Chinese is different for Americans. Your flight will be 2/3rds Chinese with them either heading home or to the states. They are rude, and very pushy, forget personal space. The Flight attendants are polite. You cannot use your phone on "Airplane mode", they make you shut it off. And on the way home they make you dump out water bottles, even if purchased in the Airport. Thailand - Bangkok traffic is INSANE, Temple tours are neat, you will see more statues of Buddha in 6 days than you will see for the rest of your life combined. Architecture at the temples is breathtaking. Eat well at the hotel every morning, you will get many, many "traditional Thai buffets" on this trip, and the food is all the same after the first one, that's what your going to get. Best stuff in order, Elephants...Period Do everything you can at the Elephant camp, Ride them, wash them, memories for a lifetime. We did take an excursion to the Tiger Zoo and it was great, the animals were not mistreated like I saw others say. Its a Zoo, so they are in cages. Others liked Coral Island, we did the zoo, so can't judge. Best Buffet (other than Breakfast) was at River Kaui. Worst - Gem Market Waste of time and grab for the American dollar. Floating Market - Buy your souvenirs Prior to the Floating market, the prices there are 2 to 3 times as much even after the negotiation, and you get the same stuff during the trip at other places...if you wait you won't get the chance later. Tip - Negotiate and walk away, most of the time they will give in. Many times folks were so proud of the cost they got something at to then find out someone else got the same item for Much cheaper. Tip - If you want to do something extra, Ask. A good guide will make it happen, or show you how. We got to go to Mau Thai Boxing at ring side, because our guide knew how to pull it off. China - Guides are not as good as Thailand, much stricter, less personable. Though ours tried really hard. Some on your own stuff is cool. There are temples near your hotel that you can see, plus the Summer palace, plus a China town inside of China town (these require Taxi or subway). I was also told after the trip there is a 8 story mall where you can get knock off stuff. Fake Rolex for $10 type stuff. Best in China - the Wall, but the Forbidden city is really cool too. Worst - Food options, you will not find your "sweet and sour chicken" that we are used too. Pizza Hut is available in China, and one block from the Hilton, the Manager studied in the US and speaks fluent English. BEST meal in China was a personal pan pizza. Worst - Getting knocked around by large crowds. Trying to find someone to help or give you directions, The Chinese folks are quick to look away and point for you to leave them alone. Beijing traffic is also awful during rush hour. Hope this helps, Don't hesitate to take this trip, its well worth it. Thanks Affordable World.

We wanted to thank Nop again for the wonderful tour of Thailand he gave me and Michel for our honeymoon. The tour would not have been the same without his valuable knowledge of the history and culture of the country and his kindness and generosity to guide us every step of the way. He made sure we were always in good hands, never taken advantage of, always showed us where the best photo opportunities were, and gave us special "off the itinerary" tours when possible. Nop is one of the kindest people we ever had the pleasure of meeting and not enough nice things can be said about him. We wish he could have continued our tour on to China, because we got spoiled in Thailand with all the special treatments. For only a short amount of time in Thailand, we saw so many locations and experienced many things. The highlights of the trip are numerous, but the best parts were the Floating Market, getting up close and personal with Asian elephants, and the beautiful beaches of Pattaya. China had a very different atmosphere, but was still very much enjoyable. There was a lot of free time after the activities for the day, so you had to find your own way around and find fun things to do. After seeing the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, I don't think I will need to return to China. Those were the only things I wanted to see, but there are still many things I would like to see and experience in Thailand (espcially in the North). Overall, we made lifelong memories that we will always cherish. We will look up Nop again when we decide to return to Thailand for a second trip. kob kun kaa!!!!!

I would STRONLY discourage you from sending any future groups to the Tiger Zoo! That was my least favorite part of the entire trip. It was painful to see the terrible conditions the animals were kept in and the way they were treated. It was truly so sad to be there and I would have preferred to spend my time in Thailand doing something else…with cultural or historical significance!! I did not like this part of the trip and I shared that disappointment with friends- to avoid this excursion.

Affordable World was above my expectations, everything was very organized the accommodations were very good and luxury. I love Thailand it was an amazing experience! My tour guide was Panada I wasn’t too happy with her but must admit Audi the other tour guide was very good he gave everyone extra time and was very nice and very helpful some of my friends were with him and they loved him. The Elephant Trekking it’s an amazing experience you must do very worth the price and the tiger zoo it’s a must do also. The tour guides try to booked you a massage at Ayuthaya is 700 for 2 hours not bad at all approximately ($20. US dollars) but I recommend you wait and get it at Pattaya you can get the same for 400 which is about ($12. Us Dollars) but is by the beach so is much nicer. Do all your shopping’s at Bangkok is cheaper specially the people selling outside the Temples and the weekend flea market. The floating markets are way more expensive. Dinners are not included I recommend you eat outside the hotels is cheaper. At Pattaya I recommend you eat at Bistro Park is less than 1 block from the hotel the food was very good and lots of varieties from different countries and not expensive at all dinner for 3 was approximately $15. Dollars. Beijing I didn’t like too much except for the tour to Great Wall that was amazing and you must do. I will definitely book again with Affordable World it met all my expectations and much more, but next time I will book Thailand only or another country bur definitely will not returned to China

This trip was an absolute joy. All aspects of the trip was well done and organized. In Thailand our tour guide was Kitty, not only was she exceptionally well versed on all aspects of history and culture in her country but she is passionate about making sure we had all of our needs met. She made us laugh on our bus rides and shared with us hints on food choices. She is definitely an asset in Thailand for the Affordable World company. The next part of my trip was to Bejing, we were met by our tour guide Nina. She was very pleasant after a delayed flight. We were then given a rather easy day at the forbidden palace. Nina was attentive to our needs and provided us with photo stops, excellent cultural knowledge and excellent cuisine suggestions Together with the beautiful accommodations this trip was a five star experience.

We loved everything about this trip, and have told all of our friends that they MUST travel to Thailand, and the MUST book with Affordable World. Fantastic job!

Our tour guide in Thailand (Audi) was amazing!!!! I wish he could have traveled to Beijing with us! Would go on another tour with him for sure! Overall, the trip was great. I think Ayuthaya could have been left off with an extra day in Pattaya so as to avoid traveling on the bus everyday. We enjoyed the trip and would travel with Affordable World again.

The tour guide in Thailand (Audi) was excellent ready to please everyone very positve and me feel secure with him I can see he would look for everyone. He deserves to be a role model. Did not demand daily tip he did not even ask for it. Some of us that have travel before ask him about it he said any amount is welcome if you can and want to give. When we were giving him the tip he did not count the amount he was happy to see the tip. He did said he would share with the driver and the helper.and told us Thank you. The tour guide from Beijing was not as friendly. When he saw that some of us did not buy the tour to Fordidden City he wanted us to look for the transportaion back to the Hotel in our own it was until we demanded that he had to provide the transportation back to the Hotel. On our last day demanded tip 10 dlls per day will not relase anyone from the bus until he got paid in addition he would count the money to ensure everyone was tipping him 30 dollars per head. Which according to the terms of the contract was not mandatory it was suggested to tip them 10 dlls daily but he did not deserve them.

We found both our guides excellent. They took very good care of the group and went out of their way to make sure everything went well. The classical dance show was of interest but the dinner was not very good. Overall it was a very enjoyable and packed excursion. We always felt safe and were kept fully informed of by our guides. The transportation was comfortable and always on time. I would definitely use Affordable World again in the future. Overall a very well done tour.

The trip guides and accommodations exceeded my expectations. Our guides did a great job. Thailand guides were awesome. China guide was good, but not equal to our Thai guides. The accommodations were great. All guides were very knowledgable and helpful. The only problem we encountered was our transfer to China was on a 1:00am flight meaning we arrived in Beijing after traveling and being awake all night, on top of which our flight was delayed which meant we went directly from the airport into our tour of Beijing exhausted and unprepared for the day. In the future I will make sure the are no nighttime transfers.

I enjoyed my early September trip to Thailand and Beijing. Thailand is so interesting. There's so much to see and do. I loved going to Coral Island near Pattaya to swim. I thought the breakfasts in the hotels were really good. I would have preferred to be in the bus rather than a van as I had wanted to get to know others on the trip.

The tour was really great and the hotels were nice. Best hotels were in Bangkok and Beijing. The country sides in Thailand only had decent style hotels. The tour guides in Thailand were amazing (Patty and Audi). China tour guide was not as great but decent. The food was not great, but overall the trip is worth the money you spend with many meals included. The cost for the flight alone makes the trip well worth it and they really take you to many sights and locations. I would recommend this trip to anyone but you should not go on this affordable trip if you want a luxury trip. This is great if you want to sightsee and be on the go everyday. You need minimal money for Thailand but China is much more expensive.

We took our trip in mid April. Even in the heat and humidity of Thailand - we never noticed that. We were so busy seeing the beautiful sights and meeting such beautiful people. We so much enjoyed our tour and we were disappointed when it was time to head to Beijing. There were so many activities that covered interests for everyone. We were not unhappy with any of the extras and did them all. The Guide, Audi, was so happy in his work that it showed his love of his country's people, culture and history. When we arrived in Beijing we noticed such a difference in the people and culture. History is not that important. The people are more into surviving. The city is crowded with cars everywhere and the sights have many people there as well. Yes, the people are able to enjoy The Great Wall and The Forbidden City. Maybe a trip into the countryside would have been a better choice for us to experience more of China. Beijing seems to be a city that is trying to copy the larger cities of the world and tearing down many buildings to make it so. The trip was what we expected to be covered in the advertising and we will look at other trips offered by Affordable World when we take our next trip. T & M Dougherty

I went on this trip in February so weather in Thailand was perfect, but cold for Beijing. The Thailand portion of the trip was amazing! 5-star hotels, buffet meals, and our tour guide Patty will be your best friend. We got the full experience of Thailand's history, culture, and nightlife. Pattaya is definitely the best part of Thailand. I felt really spoiled from Thailand, because going to Beijing was just a mild exploration of it's major tour sites. All in all, YOU MUST VISIT THAILAND!
